Default Re: Extreme Dilute Gene

ED is recessive so you would need to locate a breeder of ED hamsters and purchase a Preferably Homogeneous Extreme Dilute Male. Do know though that ED on cream is VERY dull as it produces solid white fur coat which as a mature Adult may have a slight cream coloring around the nose. Also ED is NOT the gene that produces Blue hamsters. Unless you are very knowledged on Syrian genes I would steer clear of any newer to the USA mutation genes as they need LOTS of work done to produce improvements on the few Hamsters we have in the states already.

May I ask what your goals are with the ED gene? Breeders of this gene will want to know, and at this time most that have this gene are being rather picky of whom they sell too. I know Hekomi(Strong Brew Hamstery) in the Greater Toronto Area in Canada is working on establishing the ED gene in Canada, but I don't know if she has any pups or young adults available.

Good luck with your hunt and I hope you find what your seeking.
