. As long as you supervise him and make sure he doesn't chew the newspaper I think it will be OK. I might avoid the sawdust as it will be a bit hard to clean out where as the newspaper can be just rolled up and binned if wetted on. Many newspapers use the eco friendly vegetable inks these days so as I say as long as he does not chew a lot it will be fine.
