It's a great cage and excellent for a Syrian Hamster. I nearly bought it but it was out of stock when I wanted a cage so I got the Barney instead. They're both good but the Alexander comes with all the shelves and houses you need really. I don't think I've heard of a hamster that didn't love all the space and levels in that cage.
