Default Re: Some of my Roborovski

I see it as no different to socialising dog puppies if you like. I already do it with my syrians as most go to families with noisy kids, hoovers, possibly dogs etc so if they are used to some of that already it means they experience less stress settling into a new home.

Going on your story there, most of my rescue hamsters can't do an education event and I don't push it for them. They've largely had limited to almost no handling before coming to me, especially the robos, and are scared of everything.

My own robos will still initially run away, I don't think they can help it as a species and I like to think a healthy robo would do that. But yes, early handling and socialisation def do make a difference. Keep working on your Scamp, little and often is the key. And if you are calm about it, he'll take his cue from you and realise no one is out to eat him

That moment when your robo stops running and sits, looks about and then washes in your hand is a priceless moment
