I think the ball pit is a really good idea,and there are definitely other styles to go for if that one isn't suitable!Something along the lines of a child's ball pit or a DIY mesh and safe wood playpen or even cardboard or corrugated plastic would be a great idea,since there are of course safety hazards with free roaming.

One idea I have is that if you were to build a pen with wood and mesh to make it escape proof you could just have an added lid on top which wouldn't be that difficult to attach and build if you're interested in that style of playpen.Kind of like a rabbit run but smaller spacing and a smaller size overall!
