Ive had 3 syrians from pets at home. 1 was so tame, the second wasnt too bad after he got used to me, and my current newest one which i've had for 2 weeks was not very friendly at all.

As soon as the sales man opened the glass cage thing they were in they all started hissing and squeaking at him. I chose my syrian and as he manhandled it he started squeaking. It's taken me a week of gaining my new syrians trust and he's finally stopped squeaking at me.

I think the tiny cages their in is absolutely disgusting. The lack of toys, and stimulation is bad too and I just want to give them all a home. My syrian now though is becoming more and more tame every day as I handle him a lot. He hated it at first but he is getting better. I think it also depends how they're treated in the shop, because we don't actually know what happens after closing hours.
