Sometimes they don't want to come out, so coaxing them out is a good idea. I find a treat in the end of a tube, and put the tube over the house door, works ok. If he doesn't take that bait, you could lift up his house and lift him out, although if he's not tame yet that's not the best way. If you take the top of the cage it might make no difference if he stays in his house, and it's a bit of a risk for escaping when you're not looking.
