You should be happy she has lived such a long life with you and not take it for granted and decide it's time for her to die because she is now an inconvenience. Please don't put her down, you'll probably feel guilty for not rehoming her. Like the others have said there will be somebody else willing to look after her if you try hard enough. Hamsters aren't to be "replaced", like they are objects. They are living animals and we shouldn't decide when it's their time to die unless there is serious health problems where they are only suffering. This might seem a little rough but please follow through on your commitment to take care of your hamster the day you adopted her that should have been your commitment to see her through to the end, however that looks like, to the best of your ability. but definitely not by taking her life.

If you live in the US you possibly ask Pet Smart & Pet-Co who they use as their rescue agency? Usually there are charity agencies that operate on donations & take real good care of the animals if they need medical treatment or need rehoming. Sometimes these chain stores have to surrender animals that do not sell for whatever reason?
