Aside from giving him treats, let him be familiarized with you.. With your smell by putting tissue up your sleeve for a day and giving it to him as a nesting material.. Or with your voice by talking to him every day. Also, you can put your hand in his cage and let him explore it. You can feel it when your hamster becomes comfortable with you like when you give him a treat and he doesnt just steal it away but like maybe eat it on your palm, or if you talk to him and he doesn't hide and instead listen to you.. Before, i would scoop my hamster up in his cage and if he seemed jumpy, i give him more time..
