Default Re: Size for Tote Bin Cage?

Is this in the US? I'm not sure where you find them but Christmas tree bins are supposed to be big!

Or there's a detolf! $60 and 163cm long - you just need to make two lids with 2 x 4 pieces of wood, some 1cm mesh and a stapler.

Or - if you can spend $99 there's a very good Syrian sized cage available - the Marchioro Goran. It's classed as a rat cage, but bar spacing is fine at about 1cm and the rat tube it comes with is great for a syrian - means they don't get stuck or block it up with food or nesting material. It's about the biggest cage you can get in the US, has a really nice large front opening door, so excellent access. Virtual Keith has one for his Syrian and he has a great set up in it after buying some small extra shelves. Have linked his thread so you can see it.

I'd say - get a detolf if you have the space - if not, get the Goran cage - it's a great habitat for a Syrian and nice and spacious at 32.25 inches wide and 20 inches deep which is 645 square inches - it will be a bit less as those are maximum measurements and the base curves in a bit, but it is still an excellent size and not too high like a lot of rat cages.

If it's not affordable then the Christmas tree plastic bins might be good.
