Yes, because dogs smell like a large predator just like cats do. They also bark. So it`s wise to keep dogs, especially excitable dogs, out of the room the hamster`s cage is kept in unless you have a placid, well behaved dog who is calm submissive. Some dogs will be, others will just intimidate. Dogs need to be conditioned to accept small creatures or they may just see them as prey. x
