My friend's hamster wasn't scared of the dog in their house surprisingly. Maybe because the dog was there first and he slowly got used to the smell. Your ham might just be settling in, give him around 2-3days of alone time. Sometimes they're ok on the first day then they realize they're already in a new house. That's when they start to get scared lol.
