It sounds like a really good bonding experience. I personally love the tub training method because it allows hammy to go at his/her own speed. So much better than trying to hang on to a squirmy, anxious hammy. Good work there!
It gets easier and easier as time goes by and hammy learns that good things happen when you are there.
