I suppose if you just have a chat with your mum and point out how well you've managed the responsibility for the other two and taken good care of them. That she doesn't have to have anything to do with them, it's you cleaning them and paying for them etc... Maybe rearrange whatever room the hammie would be in to show her the space where they new guy would go?

And make her a cup of tea. Mums love tea.
