Thank you so much for your research on CKD. My daughter's beloved hamster showed signs of this recently. We ruled out diabetes and the vet didn't have many options for us for treatment. I'm so glad I found this site. After just 5 days, Honey (the hamster) is doing so much better. We haven't needed to fill his water bottle for over a week! He's gobbling up the food you recommended. I have two questions though. 1) Our vet thought the K/D pellets would have too much protein for a hamster and he was concerned about us using them. Comments? And, 2) despite eating a lot, Honey is much thinner than he used to be. The vet's office suggested it could be due to less bloating (now that he's not drinking as much water). I'm concerned that the 2 drops of flax seed oil aren't supplying him with enough fat. What do you think?
