[Why so Syrian]

My roommate has two Syrian hamsters, one of which passed away sometime last week. After we found the hamster carcass, it has quite a bit of skull missing(presumably eaten by the remaining hamster). I'm wondering if the other hamster can get sick after consuming the rotting hamster flesh.
