Is the base level? On our saucer, the saucer itself goes up in the air, so basically the low-down part of the "saucer" part is a flat running surface... even when Carmelita is REALLY running fast, she can't get all the way up it. Of course, she had a FS in her tank at the pet store, so she knew. Flower, our first ham, just sat on it for a while, and then we slowly moved the saucer with our hand and held up a sunflower seed for her to walk toward, and she got it right away.
