Yeah... Do not risk messing about right now. When they're two weeks old, have their eyes open and are leaving the nest you can risk a slight change (just replacing the wet corner) if you have to. We personally left it until 17 days to do any cleaning though.
We cleaned most of the cage at 24 days, but may have been able to do that sooner.

If you have a litter the cage is likely to smell and you just have to live with it. Ours stank to high heaven when we changed the toilet area at 17 days, but cleaning it much earlier would've risked the pups so a smelly cage was definetly the better option.
