I was at the vet, and one of the techs told us the story of his wife's classroom hamsters. She is a teacher, and they lived together for a long time, but one morning she came in and there was blood everywhere I wish the hams were dwarves and if so, I would say to go for it. You could probably keep their cages next to each other or make a bin cage with a divider in the middle so they can still see/smell each other but with no risk. Sorry I can't give you good news.....
