Just my tuppence, but there is a powder supplement called ipakitine, which binds sodium and phosphorous and can be sprinkled on food. Again, check with a vet, very definitely, because although this is marketed for cats and dogs, and can be used in rats, I have no information on its safety or efficacy in hamsters. But thought it was worth a mention.
