She may be biting because you smell tasty
Where are you putting your hand? If you're sticking it in her cage with the treat she may see you as a threat as you're invading her territory.
Depends on the size of the ball - same as a wheel, a ball needs to be big enough so that they don't bend their backs (8inches minimum).
