Default Re: Pyometra Information

Brilliant info Nat. However, as you know, Poppy was PTS because of this. Sometimes you have to say No to the operation, I suppose it depends on the age of the hamster and/or how sick they are. Poppy became very ill within 24 hrs, 4 days of antibiotics didn't help. When I took her back the vet said it was unlikely she would survive the op. I trust my vets but the first vet I saw didn't think it was Pyometra, so maybe the outcome would of been different.
It broke my heart, but just want others to know I acted quickly but for Poppy it was too late.
At least now I know for sure & can keep my eye on little Pebbles. As I have said before I am so pleased Honeydo is well on the way to recovery we didn't need to lose another little Mink girl on HC.
